StellarPath Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 27th, 2026

Last Updated: May 27th, 2026

StellarPath is a mastery-based learning platform designed to help parents understand their child’s learning progress, identify skill gaps, and support long-term mastery.

This Privacy Policy explains how StellarPath collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our website, Free Skill Check, parent accounts, student profiles, learning activities, and related services.

“Parent” means a parent or legal guardian who creates or manages an account. “Student” means a child or learner whose learning activity is managed through a parent account.

1. Our Privacy Approach

StellarPath is designed around a parent-controlled model. Parents create accounts, manage student profiles, and view learning progress. Students do not need to create independent accounts, provide email addresses, or disclose full legal names to use the learning features.

We aim to collect only the information needed to provide personalized learning, show progress to parents, recommend appropriate next skills, maintain security, and improve the educational quality of the service.

We do not sell student personal information. We do not use student learning activity for targeted advertising.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Parent Account Information

When a parent creates an account, we may collect:

  • Parent email address
  • Password or authentication credentials
  • Account creation date
  • Consent records
  • Communication preferences
  • Billing information, if paid features are later added

If we use a third-party payment processor, we do not store full payment card details on our systems.

2.2 Student Profile Information

Parents may create student profiles so StellarPath can remember learning progress and recommend what to do next.

For each student profile, we may collect:

  • Student profile label or nickname
  • Grade level
  • Subject or discipline selection
  • Learning goals or preferences, if provided by the parent
  • Profile creation date
  • Archived or deleted status

We do not require a student’s full legal name. We encourage parents to use a nickname or label such as “My 4th grader” or “Student A.”

We do not require a student email address, school name, teacher name, exact birthdate, photo, voice recording, or precise location.

2.3 Learning Activity and Progress Information

To provide personalized learning and progress tracking, we collect learning activity associated with student profiles, such as:

  • Questions shown
  • Answers submitted
  • Correctness
  • Time spent on questions or sessions
  • Skills practiced
  • Difficulty level
  • Session history
  • Mastery estimates
  • Fluency estimates
  • Recommended next skills
  • Learning path progress
  • Completion status

This information helps StellarPath determine where a student should continue, what skills may need strengthening, and what parents should see in the dashboard.

2.4 Free Skill Check Information

The Free Skill Check may be used without creating an account.

During an anonymous Free Skill Check, we may collect:

  • Grade level
  • Subject
  • Questions shown
  • Answers submitted
  • Correctness
  • Approximate session progress
  • General diagnostic results

If a parent chooses to save results, create an account, or join the waitlist, we may associate the Free Skill Check results with the parent account or parent email.

2.5 Website, Device, and Usage Information

When you use StellarPath, we may automatically collect limited technical information, such as:

  • IP address
  • Browser type
  • Device type
  • Operating system
  • Pages visited
  • Referring page
  • Approximate region based on IP address
  • Session identifiers
  • Security logs
  • Cookie or similar technology identifiers

We use this information for website functionality, security, analytics, debugging, and service improvement.

We do not intentionally send student names, student profile labels, question answers, or student learning records to advertising platforms.

StellarPath may be used by parents to support children, including children under 13. Our service is designed so that parents control student profiles and student learning activity.

Parent Consent

Before creating a persistent student profile for a child under 13, we require the parent or legal guardian to provide consent for StellarPath to collect, use, and store the student profile and learning activity for the purpose of providing the service.

The consent process may include:

  • Parent account creation
  • Parent email verification
  • Confirmation that the user is the parent or legal guardian

  • Phone number
  • Exact date of birth
  • School name
  • Teacher name

StellarPath may link to third-party websites or resources, such as blog references or educational materials.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites or services. Parents should review the privacy practices of those services before using them.

StellarPath is currently designed primarily for parent-directed use.

If StellarPath later works with schools, districts, teachers, or educational institutions, additional terms may apply. In those cases, student data may be subject to school-specific agreements and education privacy laws, including FERPA, depending on how the service is used and what data is provided.

Where required, we will enter appropriate written agreements and use student information only as permitted by the applicable school agreement and law.
